The project includes a 10-story office tower — inspired by the layered wafers of the company’s silicon conductor research — as well as an 8-story parking garage, a variety of employee amenities and landscaped green areas.

The Galaxy Café reaches toward the gardens with large glass walls. Clad in redwood siding, it projects a warm, wooded glow that blends with the landscape.

The open café, large enough for all-office meetings, is divided by demountable, curvilinear screens of vertical wood slats that create intimate seating areas while allowing views to the outdoors.

The design ensures that each employee is no further than one floor away from green space. It also includes a track and fitness facility. In addition, there are plenty of spaces for outdoor meetings.

The headquarters is highly energy-efficient. Floor-to-ceiling glass faces the interior courtyard, shaded from direct sun while still permitting the maximum amount of natural daylighting to reduce energy consumption.
